Photo Book

Click here to view this photo book larger

So we wanted to try something different for a guestbook. Something that would be more than just a book with blank pages and random blurbs. So Deb got inspired from learning that her sister had turned her blog into books. I think it is an awesome idea, and gives a more meaningful experience for both couple and guests.

Almost 2 months away!

Joe and I are getting so excited!  With each passing day, our excitement grows greater and greater!  Everyday I feel like a kid on Christmas eve!  We have been busy organizing some wedding details and preparing things for our apartment.  Joe and I are going to live in Sea Cliff, where I currently live.  We can't wait to officially be together and make our first home together!

Registry Fun!

We are registered at Macy's and Bed, Bath, & Beyond.  Joe and I did most of our research online and then went to the store to touch/see a few things.  Creating majority of the registry online was a great way to view all the inventory and compared the two stores.  Joe still wanted to experience the "gun" at the store, so we did visit both stores to scan a few extra things!  We found the gun to be more annoying than helpful!  It kept logging us out of the system... I guess we were not scanning quick enough and spending too much time reading/talking.
All in all, the registry is done!

Save the Date!

When it comes to the "Save the Dates", I have to give props to Joe again!  His artistic visions/abilities are amazing and supersede anything I could design, so I'm relieved he took the lead on this one!  Thanks Joe!

Joe designed about 8 real contenders and after weighing in some opinions, we decided on the one below...
We ordered the magnets through a company called MagnetStreet.  I don't think we will use this company for invitations, but this was very user friendly for those that are interested!

Engagement Photos

Our friend Victor did an amazing job with the engagement photos!  The photos were taken at Sands Point Preserve in Port Washington.  It happen to be a lovely day, not too cold, not too windy! Joe and I had a hard time being serious, so thanks Victor for dealing with our laughter and having to take tons of photos over and over!  Below are a few favorites.  I will post an album once I figure it out :)

Florist Booked!

We decided to work with the in house florist for Fox Hollow (PWP).  PWP is an event planning company that has a floral division.  Joe was a big help in this decision and had a great vision for a centerpiece idea.  We are planning to go with 3 different height cylindrical vases that will hold components of our overall flower theme.

To give you an idea, the picture below is what my bouquet will look like.  The bridesmaids will have a similar look; however, with a bit more pop of color!

Bridesmaid Dresses Selected and Ordered!

I took a trip down to Virginia a few weekends ago and my sister, Colleen, Lauren and I went dress shopping!  I had a color in mind but I was open to dress options.  After the ladies tried on tons of dresses, we came up with a winner!  The dresses are going to be eggplant in color.  The designer and material are the same as my wedding dress, so I feel the look compliments my dress perfectly!

Thanks ladies for all your help and making the day easy!!  Also, thanks to all the ladies getting measured so quickly!  I can't wait for the dresses to come in, so that I can send them your way!

I'm not going to post a picture of this dress either... some things are better left as a surprise!

Wedding Party!

Joe and I are so excited for our close friends/family to be a part of our special day.  The bridesmaids and groomsmen are coming from all over the country to be with us!  We are so grateful for them and are honored that they will be a part of our special day!

Maid of Honor: Megan Huszagh-Pecorino
Bridesmaids:
Meghan McMahon
Colleen Fisher
Lauren Tarves
Victoria Gongaware
Amanda Kowalsick

Best Man: Jason Vinokur
Groomsmen:
Matthew Lee
Peter Huszagh
Brian Pecorino
Chris Kudelka
Andy Ho

Our flower girl will be my youngest cousin Sophia and our ring bearers will be our nephews, Brennan and Tyler.  Brennan and Tyler were such a big part of the engagement and we wanted them both to walk down the aisle!  Hopefully little Tyler will be steady on his feet by then!  If not, we are going to make a wagon that Brennan can pull!

Wedding Dress Success!

While I cannot post specific information about the dress, I found my dress and it was a very quick and easy process!  My mom and I went shopping together and had a great time.  We visited 2 stores - Bridal Suite of Centereach and Macy's Bridal.  The dress I found was at Bridal Suite of Centereach and I could not be happier!  I ultimately went back to the second dress I tried on!  I was surprised at how quickly I found something!  It will take about 5 more months to come in... I can't wait!

I could not have done this without Mom!  Thanks for your help Mom, I love you!

DJ and Photography/Videography

Check and check!  Welcome Tommy Tunes and Duet Photography!

Tommy Tunes has been great to work with thus far and we are excited to pump up the music and get the dance floor going!

Duet was recommended by a few co-workers and we ultimately loved their style and day of wedding plan.  We are so excited for them to capture all the special moments and help create long lasting memories!  These are some Fox Hollow pictures listed on their website:  http://www.duetwedding.com/gallery/wedding/806

Ceremony and Reception

Joe and I decided on Fox Hollow for our venue. Our wedding will be August 25, 2012. We will have the ceremony and reception at Fox Hollow and it will start at 12pm.

Check it out: http://www.thefoxhollow.com/weddings/garden-terrace/

We have the Garden Terrace room reserved! If the weather is nice, we will have the ceremony and cocktail hour outside. We are praying for a sunny and warm, but not too hot, August day!

The Proposal...

I thought Joe was on business trip in Taiwan the week before Christmas.  Turns out, he never left Long Island and was busy finishing his "proposal plan".  Joe told me that his flight home arrived on Christmas afternoon and that we would see each other around dinner.  Turns out, that was not the case!

Christmas morning is always a special time for my immediate family; however, with my nephew Brennan getting older, my sister wanted him to experience Christmas morning at there house.  So my sister and brother-in-law drove up from VA on Christmas night this year.  On Christmas morning, right before we started to open some gifts, my mom had announced that she had a "surprise"... She said that my sister, Megan, made a quick little Christmas video for the family to watch before we opened presents.... What starts out to be a "Christmas greeting"... turns into a video about "Aunt Debby".

The link below is what was played. About 5-minutes into the movie, it turns to a white screen, that is when Joe walked into the room and proposed.  If you wait about 2 minutes, my nephews come back on to end the movie.  Enjoy!!

How it all started...

It all started on January 10, 2011.  I was new to the North Shore LI area and I was looking for a local church to attend.  After visiting some churches and meeting some people, I started to frequent Shelter Rock Church (SRC) in Manhasset.  Joe happened to be a member of that church.  On Jan 10th, 2011, I decided to attend a young adults bible study...It was at that gathering where I met Joe.

After the bible study, Joe approached me and started a conversation.  Little did we know, our lives were about to change forever!  At the time, Joe was a frequent customer at Starbucks and he suggested that we meet up for coffee... so he gave me his number.  That turned into text messages, phone calls, and a coffee date on January 15, 2011.  We hit it off from the start.  It felt like we were instantly best friends and shared a powerful connection. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and with each passing moment, our love grew greater and greater.

God brought our lives together in such a unique way.  He has knit our hearts into one and we are blessed to have each other.

Welcome to "A Love-Lee Story"

We wanted to create a blog to capture our love story, engagement, and our life after the wedding!
